New IT challenges
The CAT tool memoQ is now also available for translations at Interlingua. This innovative translation technology improves productivity and quality for translators, translation service providers and clients. Translators, language service providers and end-users of translation services can profit equally from this development.
But what exactly can memoQ do for you?
Advantages for clients
- Simplified revision process
- Export in table form for revision is now possible in Word. Clients receive a table with three columns which contains source text, translation and a blank cell for comments that can be now added in Word. When we receive the Word document back, it can be automatically processed.
CAT tool skills are no longer required for revision. Furthermore, time-consuming, prone-to-errors revision work with PDF is now history as well. - Consistency is guaranteed (translation memories, term bases and other key resources are shared and used by translators "in real time")

- Simplified terminology exchange
- Several translators or revisers can work at the same time. Since the translation memory, the term base and the resources are shared "in real time", uniformity in terminology can be achieved.
- Simplified term recognition
- Monolingual reference material can now be used.
Are you looking for a new translation service provider, but you worry that they might not use your terminology? In addition to creating traditional databases (based on bilingual reference material), monolingual reference material can now be added to the database too - at the click of a button! Alignment is history.
- Monolingual reference material can now be used.
- Simplified use of files with different formats
- Files with different formats can all be added to and edited within the same project

- 101% match principle - more context specific repetitions
- You can work faster thanks to the "skip locked segments" option
- Revisers can work directly in exported memoQ documents
- Several revisers can work on a project at the same time (server-version)
- Chat window for registered translators and project managers
Other CAT tools used at Interlingua
- Trados
SDL Trados is the world's most widely known CAT tool since the late 80’s. The name is an acronym and stands for: TRAnslation & DOcumentation Software.
Combined with MultiTerm (term base) and WinAlign, this versatile programme provides all functions necessary for carrying out a translation project in a professional and efficient way. - Wordfast
This CAT tool is not an independent programme, but it was created as an Add-In for Microsoft Word in PC and Macintosh. Nevertheless, it can be connected to other programmes and it supports a whole range of file formats such as MS Office files, HTML, XML, tag files as well as the most frequent TM format, TMX. - Déjà Vu
Atril´s Déjà Vu is a popular CAT tool among translators, especially thanks to its user-friendly interface, its compatibility features and the so-called EBMT (Example-Based Machine Translation) function, which provides relevant hits from the translation memory. - Across
Across unites all necessary elements (editor, TM, terminology system) of a translation environment. Though the compatibility with other tools is quite limited, the full version can be obtained for free. - Transit
A popular tool with relevant instruments for translation, revision, terminology management and project management.
